The Beginning – intrepid Spirit
intrepid or previously known as intrepid Spirit started off as a group of 5 local friends from a little town called Kearny, New Jersey. The original members consisted of QuAnTuM-woOdY(Matt), moocow(Evan) LePeR(John), PFMcgee(Pat), and lilbopimp(Joe). We started off in early 2002 playing in various TFC(Team Fortress Classic) 5vs5 ladders and leagues. As the year went on and we started to work our way up to respectability through competition, our member count started to grow as well, thus we started recruiting from a pool of local and national players alike. Eventually, we were presented with an opportunity to pick up a very large group of players that had already formed their own group in a Public server called Drippy’s 2fort; they were dubbed [D2F]. We picked up this rather large group of “Pub” style players and after a month of molding we were ready to embark into the TFC 9vs9 world.
iS TFC 9vs9 - =>iS<=
intrepid Spirit embarked on its first TFC 9vs9 match on November 21st 2002 under the leadership of woOdY and mooCOW, coming out on top over “No Longer Valid”. During our time in 9vs9 action we obtained STA Bronze, Silver and Gold Titles, as well as the TFL 2a Championship. Although iS 9vs9 never reached the top of the TFC 9vs9 heap, we were always known as a respectable and clean team.
iS 9vs9 ended with a record of 131-97 in 6 years of play.

iS TFC 5vs5 - iS |
During our time in 9vs9 we also took a dive into the higher levels of TFC 5vs5 action in mid 2003, iS 5vs5 consisted of core 9vs9 players with a few extras sprinkled in. After somewhat of a rocky start iS 5vs5 became known as one of the best if not, the best TFC 5vs5 teams to play. Holding the highest titles in all of the TFC leagues, we went unbeaten and held titles for spans of up to 8 months (22 matches). iS 5vs5 would go out on top, retiring while holding the highest title.
iS 5vs5 ended with a record of 94-22 in 3 ½ years of play.

intrepids Gaming - i^
In mid 2007, intrepid Spirit expanded into intrepids Gaming, housing multiple teams and games including TFC and CS:S(Counter-Strike:Source) and for a short time CS:1.6(Counter-Strike 1.6). At this time we had grown into a larger community with members going from TFC matches to CS:S matches in the same night, times were busy. Eventually with TFC dwindling down to its end, our TFC division that made us what we are would slowly start to die off, members who did not jump ship over to CS:S would eventually depart. Our CS:S division would compete for several more seasons in various leagues before taking a few months break which would take us to mid 2008.
The intrepid | we know
After the break, intrepid Spirit…intrepids Gaming would be reborn under one simple signifying name, “intrepid”. This version consist of a lot of new members that are core CS players, but even then we still stayed true to our roots and built part of our member base off of TFC players. With these 2 pools of players combined we have grown into a group consisting of 2 CS:S teams and a CS:1.6 team. Through the whole history of intrepid only one original member remains, woOdY.
